Nearly every leading MBA programme now accepts both the GMAT and the GRE, and admissions committees say they do not prefer one over the other. So the real question is: which test will let you show your best score?

Choose the GMAT if…
- You are strong at reasoning with data and enjoy logic puzzles like data sufficiency.
- You plan to recruit into consulting or finance, where some firms still ask for GMAT scores.
- Your target schools report GMAT medians and you want an easy comparison.
Choose the GRE if…
- You have a strong vocabulary and reading speed.
- You prefer having a calculator for all maths questions.
- You are also considering MS or dual-degree programmes that ask for the GRE.
