IELTS at Wizius
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is accepted by universities, employers and immigration authorities in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and thousands of US institutions. Most competitive universities ask for an overall band of 6.5 to 7.5 with no section below 6.0 or 6.5.
There are two versions. IELTS Academic is for undergraduate and postgraduate study. IELTS General Training is for work, secondary education and migration. Listening and Speaking are the same in both; Reading and Writing differ in the type of material and tasks.
How we teach
Every Wizius programme starts with a diagnostic test. Your faculty reads the result with you, sets a realistic target score, and builds a week-by-week plan around your college deadlines and your working hours. Classes are 1-to-1 or in very small groups, so the lesson moves at your speed rather than the batch average.
Between classes you practise on exam-style questions, sit full-length timed mocks, and review every mistake with your mentor. We track accuracy and timing by topic so the plan keeps shifting towards the areas that still cost you marks.

Exam format, section by section
Listening
30 minutes, 4 recordings, 40 questions. You hear each recording once, with a range of accents. Question types include form completion, multiple choice, matching and map labelling.
We train: prediction before audio, spelling and number accuracy, and staying on track when you miss an answer.
Reading
60 minutes, 3 passages, 40 questions. Academic passages come from books, journals and newspapers; General Training uses everyday and workplace texts.
We train: skimming and scanning, True / False / Not Given logic, matching headings, and a 20-minute-per-passage pacing plan.
Writing
60 minutes, 2 tasks. Task 1 (150 words) describes a chart, table, map or process (Academic) or asks for a letter (General). Task 2 (250 words) is an essay and carries twice the weight.
We train: the four marking criteria — task response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy. Every essay you write is marked and returned with a band estimate.
Speaking
11–14 minutes, face to face with an examiner, in three parts: interview, a 2-minute talk on a cue card, and a discussion.
We train: fluency drills, idea generation for cue cards, pronunciation, and recorded mock interviews with band feedback.
